Welcome to the new website of the Caliente Chi Alpha Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated at the University of Texas at Arlington.

      Sigma Lambda Beta was established in Arlington in 1997 to bring The University of Texas at Arlington the first International Latino Based Fraternity with members representing over 50 different nationalities.  As a fraternity we provide our members with various service projects and social events. We want to provide our 'hermanos' with a friend away from home.  What separates us from other fraternities is that we tie in our culture with the principles of our organization. 

      SLB gives our 'hermanos' a chance to fully express their culture in their everyday lives. We want our 'hermanos' to express their culture and have pride in their heritage. Through this pride we will assist our brothers in their quest for academic excellence. Once we have this pride as a connection between us, we as culturally aware and educated 'hermanos' will be able to serve our community and reach that 'hermindad' as found in our families back home.  

      Sigma Lambda Beta is a social fraternity that was founded in 1986 at the University of Iowa. It is based on cultural understanding and wisdom. Most noteworthy is that 18 men of Hispanic origin/descent founded SIGMA LAMBDA BETA. We believe in the principles of fairness, opportunity, and in the equality of all men no matter what race, culture, or ethnicity.Our biggest goal is to see that all of society can realize the importance of these three principles. In order to achieve this goal we all strive to model these behaviors and present ourselves in a gentlemanly and educated fashion.
